Super Bowl Bound ->

So we leave tomorrow morning for Orlando (yeah the SB is in Tampa but it's way cheaper to stay/fly in Orlando and drive). I'm still flabbergasted by the Cardinals being in the big game. Don't get me wrong I'm excited and knew this day would come, just wasn't thinking it would be this year, this Super Bowl.

There's been a lot of media lately talking about some of the Cardinals free agents and players who need new deals cause they are either under paid or exceeding there contract by hitting all there escalators. I really hope they can keep the core group together for next year. This really needs to become a standard event. I'm hoping Warner is back for at least another year, I'm still not sold on Leinart, although he does have a beer bong. At least Big Ben's ribs are now under scrutiny and the media will talk about something other than the Cardinals financial situation.

I'm not sure about posts while I'm there, I'll attempt from the Iphone but not sure how well that will work. I'm not dragging my laptop with me, I think I need a netbook (small laptop), I need a raise first. OR stop going on expensive trips...resolution for '10?...nah.

Go CARDS!

PS: Vegas just lowered the spread from 7 to 6, this team is picking up steam.

Prediction - Cards WIN 27-16

NFC Champions...

WOW. What a season. I honestly have to say I never in my wildest dreams thought the Cardinals would be going to the Super Bowl, this season. I knew they were gonna be good, and I really believed they would make the playoffs. Maybe even a win or two. But to be going to the Super Bowl! No way. Not yet. Youngest team in NFL, Head Coach for only 2 years, no running game, no defense, Super Bowl in 2009, no way. I can't wait to hear what all the sports talk guys have to say now!!!

The game was awesome, the fans were so into it. It gave me chills looking around the stadium at the beginning with everyone yelling, waving the towels. I can't imagine what the players felt. One of the best moments, when Hightower caught the pass and ran it into the endzone to win the game, I literally saw every single person in the stadium raise up there hands, it was like one giant wave all at once. Unbelievable, I'm still in shock.

Fitzgerald had another great game, 9 catches for 152 yards and 3 touchdowns. All this after he had racked up 18 catches for 267 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Falcons/Panthers. The Eagles had to have had it in there game plan to try and stop him. I've always been more of a Boldin fan, but that changed somewhat over the contract talks/consistenly getting injured, and then last night. After the game was over and the Cardinals were the NFC champions, he ran into the locker room. Didn't stay on the field with his team to celebrate this huge victory. A lot of people wonder why, I'm hoping he was running in to get his cell phone and tell his agent to start negotiations with the Cardinals again...Here's to hoping.

Tampa here we come...still waiting to see about tickets, but I think it's gonna happen!!!

PS: We won our hockey game Fri night...We've now won 2 in a row and are on our first winning streak...

2 days...and 2 more games

GO CARDINALS...

For those of you who don't live in AZ or aren't paying attention to NFL Playoffs. The Cardinals are making an awesome run to the Super Bowl, thats right I just used Cardinals and Super Bowl in the same sentence. I got this theory from Jason today and I thought it was a pretty revealing. Not wishing any ill will on the city of brotherly love or anything, but I'm hoping there's a bird attack there after the Cardinals win...

"The Alfred Hitchcock Angle for "Creepiest Angle Involving Birds"

So you had the Cardinals beating the Seahawks in Week 17, then the Falcons in Round 1, and now, potentially, the Eagles in the NFC title game. Meanwhile, if the Ravens topple the Steelers, then the Cardinals could potentially beat every other NFL team with a bird nickname during their improbable five-game winning streak to capture the Super Bowl, and if that's not enough, birds took down Thursday's U.S. Airways flight heading from New York to Charlotte ... the city that's home to the team Arizona beat five days ago in Round 2 (Not to mention the fact that US Airways is headquartered in the Valley). All I can tell you is this: Something better not happen to Larry Bird. You hear me, Arizona? Leave the Basketball Jesus out of your weird bird vendetta! Got it?"

My favorite player lately is Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie or DRC. I ran a google search for DRC + birds, and check out the #1 link. Maybe it's not an Alfred Hitchcock theory, but apparently there's some chemical called DRC-1339 that kills birds. Does that mean DRC is a bird killer? Here's at least one fan hope he shuts down Deshawn Jackson and the Eagles...

We'll be at the game cheering on the Cardinals...tailgating starts at 8am...who's in?

Hockey...

So I've definitely been lagging with the posts lately. It was a crazy weekend and this week hasn't been much better. I'm still getting used to being back at work. I miss the holiday's already. Waking up to Jadon wanting to play trains is so much better than whatever song pops up on my Ipod and the thought of work in the morning...

Friday I took the day off and went up to Sunrise Ski Resort, it's about a 3.5 hr drive from Phx. Doesn't get as many people as Flag and so the snow is sometimes better. Plus they make the fake stuff which helps the base. Anyways, it was my first day up on the slopes and I must say I was definitely impressed with the snow conditions, found a little bit of powder on the edges and in the trees. Looking forward to that next storm to come through and another sick day... cough, cough.

The problem was, I had a hockey game that night. Home from Sunrise around 7pm and hockey game at 11pm was just enough time to rest/eat/get ready. That and I drank one of those 5hr energy bottles, it's pretty much liquid caffeine I think. Anyways, we won our hockey game! Which doesn't happen very often. Were now 3-13, and have the worst record in the league. But were a new team, and practice makes perfect, right?. Our last game we had a lot more intensity and I think we have improved a lot over the start of the season. We've got a pretty good shot at beating the team above us and moving up 1 spot. At least we won't be the last team in the league. I'm not sure if it was the 5hr energy or what, but I also got a goal! It was right at the end and sealed the win for us which was nice. It's my 2nd of the season and I'm hoping for a few more coming up soon. Our next game is this Fri at 11pm at Polar Ice in Chandler...

More on Cardinals Football and the rest of the weekend to come....

Cardinals heading East...

It's been pretty nice lately having a winning football team in AZ. Although they didn't finish off too strong they did enough to get into the playoff's and given what everyone was saying about the Cardinals hopes I'm uber excited they beat the Falcons!

This Sat they head to Carolina, and they played Carolina pretty close last time they were there. So it should be an exciting game. I got some new kicks from Matty D, I'll be sporting them with my Boldin Jersey hoping he can play on Sat. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for Philly to beat NY too, then the NFC Championship game will be here...

Go CARDINALS!

Merry X-mas

Big ups to the Krause/Khan family for a great Christmas in Sac. After a minor delay in getting there (I swear my alarm clock didn't go off...) we all had a great time. Even got to spend a day up near Tahoe playing in the snow.

Favorite memories from Christmas '08...

  1. Mexican Dominoes with the fam...who's knocking?

  2. Reuniting with Allison (Bundle) - Long story, but in short she's Bundle and I'm Joy and when were together were Bundle of Joy.

  3. Playing in the snow... - Jadon sledding face first down the hill laughing all the way - No Fear.

  4. Abbey opening her computer - SWEET HP Tablet PC.

  5. Alli opening her deer - loudest/highest pitch scream I've ever heard.

  6. Getting to grill Chris (Abbey's boyfriend) - I think I would have been a good older brother...

  7. Jadon's face when I walked in the door and getting to see his "favorite place in the house", small cave under the stairs.

At what age did you start to enjoy watching other people open presents than opening your own?
