Jadon's B-day

What a weekend... I can't believe it's already almost over. We had a hockey game on Saturday, we won! So now were 4-2 on the season. Not bad since we finished 5-15 last season. The best part of it was I got the game winning goal with 6 minutes to go in the game! 2-1. Check out the stats here. We also took a team photo since we had the whole team there for the first time...

Sunday was Jadon's 3rd B-day party at the train park in Scottsdale. He loves trains, and cars, and green. It was a beautiful day, maybe a little warm. Jadon was loving it, all his friends around playing games and riding the train and carousel. He didn't take a nap today he was so excited! Here's a few pics I snapped.

I spent Sunday morning out at South Mountain, Mtn. Biking with my boss and another co-worker. I figured it might be a good idea to spend some time, since I haven't seen him in about 4 weeks. Jury Duty is going good, I think were still ahead of schedule...

1 week down, 14 to go

Well we finished our first week of Jury Duty! I have to say the legal process in America is ridiculous. No wonder it's gonna take 15 weeks to get through this thing. Anyways, get to spend more time downtown, which I'm no all that familiar with, plus I got my first paycheck from the state of AZ, $32! I think I should go back to Vegas with all this new income I have.

Hot Shots lost on Saturday, I guess it should have been expected. We couldn't go the whole season without a loss, and hopefully this will get everyone fired up for the next game 4/25, but I'll be in Little Rock.

Sunday did a 20mi ride at S. Mtn. it was a great day, starting to warm up a little now, but it's still nice in the mornings. This was only the 2nd time I've done Desert Classic start to finish, I was a little worried about making it to the game, but I had plenty of time. Amy/Jason/Jadon and I went to the Dbacks vs. Dodgers game Sunday afternoon to celebrate Easter, unfortunately the Dbacks couldn't get us the win, but it was a decent game and Jadon the star of the show had fun at least until the 6th inning when the candy wore off...

Weekend Update

Well we lost our hockey game on Friday. I'm not really sure what happened, we came out pretty strong but just ran out of steam or something. A few people were out so we had to change up the lines a bit too, that may have had something to do with it... Here's a team photo we took after the game, might have been a better idea to take it before the game? haha. Next season starts March 20/21.

Since we didn't have a game Sat. night a few of us did a long Mtn. bike ride this morning. I just downloaded a new App (trailguru) for my phone that tracks your position/speed/elevation change/etc. It's pretty cool, I posted a link to the sight. This was the first time I used it, but it's pretty cool. You can check out the full page here.

I took this picture last weekend out at a new Mtn. Bike Trail we've started going to. It's called "Hawes", I'm not really sure why. It's near Power Rd and 202 (Red Mtn Fwy). We saw maybe 10 people the whole time we were there (about 3 hours), which is the complete opposite from S. Mtn. The weather has been so nice that it's been uber crowded there lately. You know it's bad when you can't even find a spot to park past the entrance.

We were riding along this trail and got up to the top of this hill, took a break by the mine shaft and then kept going, as we rounded the corner I had to stop and take a picture. It was something about the Mtn in the distance and the river/canal and all the different shades of green that made me stop. It's amazing to me that driving 20 minutes from my house, I can find a place like this and not see a house in sight, I wonder why there aren't more houses out there? I guess I should just be thankful.

I'm in...

Well with the urging of a few friends I've created my first blog...

I decided to start with a weekend update.

First I had a nice weekend ride out at S. Mtn with a few friends from work, it was awesome. East/West loop and Ridgeline

The weather in AZ right now is the best. It's not hot, and not too cold, perfect riding weather. (Duane, one of these days you need to get out here...)

Next we headed off to Zoolights with Amy/Jason/Jadon and the Meese's. It started off with Jadon getting a light up necklace, more "stuff" for Amy. We walked around and looked at "all the beautiful lights" per Jadon. Not many animals, a Zebra and an elephant or two was about it. But the lights were pretty amazing. 2.5 million lights, obviously sponsored by an electric company.

This Picture pretty much sums up the Cardinals loss against the Vikings. I should have known it wasn't going to be a good game when Jason decided to skip it to stay home with the family. I ended up leaving shortly after half time. I've seen enough football this year, and we've got a playoff game coming up...

It was definitely worth leaving early even though the Cards did try to make a comeback, I got to go to Polar Express - IMAX with the fam. Jadon and his SWEET 3-D glasses. I tried to snap a picture of him watching the movie and eating a corn dog but it didn't turn out... We had to stay after so we could "listen" to some of the songs. And Jadon loved it so much he wants to go back again soon.
